2011 MTV Movie Awards Nominations: 'Eclipse' Nabs 8 Nods!

2010 was a pretty great year for movies. Leonardo DiCaprio invaded our dreams (well, more than usual), the "Harry Potter" cast geared up to say goodbye and Taylor Lautner took off his shirt (again!). So now it's time to honor all the films—and the stars—that made going to the movies so great!

The nominations for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards have been announced, and there's more than a few favorites on the list. Most notably are the eight (!) nods for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which earned more nominations than any of the other movies. That's, of course, thanks to its cast, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and, yep, Taylor, who all earned nominations for their performances. The third installment of the series also found itself in categories like Best Movie and will prove to be a double threat in the Best Kiss race, as KStew is nominated for locking lips with Robert and Taylor. Isn't she pretty much already a winner?!

The "Twilight" gang weren't the only ones with something to celebrate as the cast of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" racked up six nominations. The movie may mark the beginning of the end for "Harry Potter," but they are still strong contenders in categories like Best Movie (which, in addition to "Eclipse," they'll go up against "Black Swan," "Inception" and "The Social Network"), Best Fight, Best Kiss, Best Villain and Best Male and Female Performance (for Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, natch).

But don't think it's just the battle of the big-screen beloved book adaptations (say that three times fast!). The mind-bending summer hit "Inception" dreamed up seven nominations, thanks to its jaw-dropping moments and performances by the all-star cast including Leo, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Same goes for fellow Best Movie nominee "The Social Network," which voters may "like" enough to reward its stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake.

There's certainly no shortage of star power for the 2011 ceremony, as recent Oscar winner Natalie Portman will go toe-to-toe in the Best Female Performance category for her fancy footwork in "Black Swan" (not to mention her lip lock with Mila Kunis, which is competing in the Best Kiss race!). But her prima ballerina isn't just going up against Emma and Kirsten, but ladies who made us laugh like Emma Stone ("Easy A") and Jennifer Aniston ("Just Go With It")!

Speaking of bringing the funny, Russell Brand ("Get Him to the Greek"), Zach Galifianakis ("Due Date") and Ashton Kutcher ("No Strings Attached") may walk home the winners of Best Comedic Performance. Meanwhile, "Never Say Never" star Justin Bieber may leave everyone gasping for air if he wins in the Biggest Jaw-Dropping Moment category and beats out the likes of James Franco in "127 Hours."

Of course, the toughest part will be the actual voting. How can one choose between Zac Efron ("Charlie St. Cloud") or Daniel or Jesse or Robert or Taylor? Which newcomer will win Best Breakout? And how in the world are we going to choose a winner in that Best Kiss category?!? Better get thinking because voting begins today!

All of those questions and more will be answered at the MTV Movie Awards, which will be hosted by Jason Sudeikis and will air live on June 5 at 9 p.m.
